DARK SOULS TOWER KITE SHIELD UPGRADE

When upgraded down the Standard path, the Tower Shield boasts one of the highest stability values of all greatshields with a maximum value of 86 it is followed by the Black Iron Greatshield at 85 stability, and is beat only by the Greatshield of Artorias at 88. However, doing so reduces its durability down to 30 and prevents it from being repaired, making it extremely cost-inefficient.

Interestingly, the Tower Shield has the highest stability of any shield in the game when upgraded to full of the Crystal path, having a final stability of 90 out-classing Havel's Greatshield and the Greatshield of Artorias in terms of stability.
Regardless, it is the third-lightest greatshield in the game, and the lightest greatshield that provides 100% damage reduction against physical attacks. While quite strong versus physical attacks, it does not have any real strengths, being outclassed in terms of weight by the Eagle Shield, and in terms of fire defense by the Black Iron Greatshield. The Tower Shield is a basic greatshield that strikes a balance between weight and defense. Purchased from the Crestfallen Merchant for 8,000 souls.Respawnable variations can be found in Sen's Fortress and the Painted World of Ariamis. One non-respawnable version is in the Church of the Undead Parish, guarding the Fire Keeper Soul.
